Jonathan Kodjia is reportedly set to be allowed to leave Aston Villa in January, despite comments from Dean Smith that seemed to suggest he was not for sale.
The striker has been out of action as of late due to a broken cheekbone but looks set to be available for this weekend’s clash with Brighton.

However, according to reports from ClubCall, the striker is set to be allowed to leave the club, with his contract coming to an end at the end of the season.
Qatari club Al-Gharafa had an interest in Kodjia last month, but Dean Smith blocked a deal as he didn’t want to be left with too little options upfront.
But, with Villa set to go in for another striker this January, Kodjia could be allowed to leave if another bid comes in.

If Villa sign a striker, then letting Kodjia go looks like the best deal for both parties.
However, if Villa don’t get someone in during the January window, then selling Kodjia looks to be the wrong move.
Dean Smith has denied the club will be letting him go before, so this could again just be rumours.
