Aston Villa’s three game unbeaten run in the Premier League came to an expected end on Saturday as they went down 3-0 to Manchester City at the Ethiad.
They put in a solid defensive effort in the first half, but City’s quality shone through in the second.
They now turn their attention to the Carabao Cup as they have a last 16 tie against local rivals Wolves on Wednesday evening.
Villa got to this stage by brushing aside Brighton 3-1, while Wolves played poorly against Championship side Reading and won the game thanks to a penalty shootout.
Despite the fact that there is a quarter-final up for grabs, we reckon that Dean Smith will change most of the starting XI that played against City at the weekend.
This is because he will want all of his regular first team players well rested for the match against Liverpool next weekend.
Here is our predicted Villa XI for the game against Wolves tomorrow night.
