Jack Grealish has been left out of Aston Villa’s side to face Liverpool this afternoon.
The 24-year old had been a doubt to face the Reds earlier this week, after he picked up a calf injury against Manchester City last weekend.
The creative midfielder left the Etihad Stadium on crutches, although it was later confirmed that the injury wasn’t serious, with Dean Smith leaving the door open for him to feature against the Reds.

However he hasn’t made the starting line-up or the bench, with Anwar El Ghazi replacing him in the line-up for the Villans.
Many Aston Villa fans voiced their displeasure at Grealish having been left out on social media ahead of the afternoon kick-off at Villa Park.

Jack Grealish has just come into a period of form for the Villans, so his injury issue isn’t exactly ideal.
Liverpool themselves are on fine form and are usually destructive, and Villa were always going to face a very tough challenge against the Reds, but losing Grealish has certainly made that harder.
Villa will now have to hope that El Ghazi can turn in a mature and disciplined performance to help aid the side in their attempt at snatching a win against Jurgen Klopp’s side.
