Neil Taylor has been forced to withdraw from the Wales squad ahead of EURO 2020 Qualifiers against Azerbaijan and Hungary due to personal issues.
The 30-year-old has been training with Ryan Giggs’ national team side ahead of the two crunch clashes but won’t play a part against Azerbaijan on Saturday and Hungary on Tuesday.
He would’ve been looking to play his 43rd and 44th matches in a Wales shirt but the detailed reason for his absence remains to be seen.
After missing the previous four Premier League matches, Taylor came on in the second half against Wolverhampton Wanderers on Sunday.
He’s lost his starting place to Matt Targett this season but remains to be an important member of the squad.
Hopefully, he can put himself back in contention for when Newcastle United visit Villa Park after the international break in what is expected to be a crunch clash under the lights.
