McGinn has been one of the few Villa players to undeniably make the step up to Premier League level this season. He has been excellent in midfield, contributing goals and assists whilst also retaining possession under pressure when on the ball. He works hard for the team off the ball as well, winning the ball back and pressing high up the pitch.
Villa will now need to work out a way to function as a team without one of their key players, so it will be interesting to see whether they make a move in the transfer window. The club could decide to invest in a new midfielder in January to take McGinn’s place in the side and help them avoid the drop down to the Championship.
