Aston Villa could renew their interest in Leeds United star Kalvin Phillips during the January transfer window.
According to the Daily Mail, as cited on Birmingham Live, Dean Smith’s men remain keen to sign the Leeds midfielder.
Villa were heavily linked with a deal to sign the player during the previous summer window but were unable to complete a move for the 23-year-old.
The Premier League strugglers remain interested and could try again in the new year, despite his £40 million price tag.

Phillips has developed into a real leader within the Leeds squad and it’s easy to see why Premier League teams would be eager to snap him up.
However, when you see how well Leeds are doing in the Championship this season, Villa may struggle to convince him to leave in the new year.
Leeds once again look like they’ll be fighting for automatic promotion to the Premier League and with Villa looking over their shoulder at an immediate return to the Championship, it would be a huge risk for Phillips to swap Elland Road for Villa Park at this stage of the season.
