Aston Villa have confirmed that both Tom Heaton and Wesley will miss the rest of the season after their respective injuries against Burnley.
The club confirmed that both players suffered ‘significant knee ligament damage’ at Turf Moor, in what is a massive blow to Villa’s survival hopes.
While Wesley has struggled at times this season, the duo were both set to play key roles in Dean Smith’s push for safety.

This news is now likely to force Villa into some pretty drastic January decisions.
The club have to act quickly in the new year if they want to replace both players and continue their fight to survive in the Premier League.
Jack Butland and Michy Batshuayi are among the early names to be linked with moves to Villa.
Smith has to add goals to his squad if they want to get some more points on the board and the Chelsea striker could be the man to do that after failing to breakthrough at Stamford Bridge this season.
