Aston Villa have reportedly held talks with AC Milan over a potential deal to sign Pepe Reina this month.
According to the Daily Mail, the Italian outfit have offered the former Liverpool man to Villa as they begin their desperate search for a new goalkeeper.
Long-term injuries to both Wesley and Tom Heaton have left the club scrambling for two key additions during the January window.
Reina, who was a favourite during his time at Anfield, has had spells with Milan, Napoli and Bayern Munich in recent years.

Reina would be a fantastic signing for Villa, should they manage to get a deal done in their time of need.
He may be 37, but he has experience playing for some of the very top clubs around Europe – something that will help Villa in their fight against relegation. A study by FourFourTwo back in 2018 named Reina as the best goalkeeper in Premier League history in terms of his clean sheet ratio.
The report from the Daily Mail says that the Spaniard is confident he can still perform in the Premier League, despite making just two Serie A appearances this season.
Having been known as a ‘cheerleader‘ throughout his career, Reina would no doubt thrive on another opportunity to prove his worth in the Premier League as a number one.
