Aston Villa have reportedly made a €30 million (£25.5m) offer to sign AC Milan striker Krzysztof Piatek, according to Sky Italia’s Gianluca Di Marzio.
Earlier this week reports in Italy claimed that the Polish striker was a target for Dean Smith’s side as they look to replace the injured Wesley.
The Premier League strugglers now appear to have upped their initial interest as they look to strengthen during the January window.
Di Marzio claims that the recent signing of Zlatan Ibrahimovic could push Piatek out of the door this month.

You have to give Villa some credit here, they don’t appear to be wasting any time in trying to replace Wesley.
However, you do wonder if their pursuit of Piatek will be in vain. Back in December, Spanish outlet AS reported that the striker didn’t want to take a ‘step down’ in his next move, amid interest from Atletico Madrid.

Antonio Vitiello of Milan News also adds that Newcastle, Fiorentina and Bayer Leverkusen are now in the running to sign the player as well. Of those four teams, Villa would arguably be at the bottom of the pecking order.
Newcastle have struggled this season, but are four points above Smith’s men in the fight to stay in the Premier League.
With Piatek’s stance on a move away from the San Siro unclear, Villa may want to consider alternative options as well.
