Aston Villa have completed a loan deal for AC Milan goalkeeper Pepe Reina, according to the Daily Telegraph’s John Percy.
It was revealed earlier today that Villa had made Reina their top goalkeeper target.
Dean Smith lost number one shot-stopper Tom Heaton to season-ending injury after the Englishman suffered knee ligament damage.
Percy reports that Reina will join on loan until the end of the season and is set for a medical early next week.

I feel that this is a very high-risk signing by Villa because of Reina’s age.
The former Liverpool man is now 37 years old and has only made one Serie A appearance for AC Milan this season, meaning he could be lacking in match fitness and be slightly rusty.
This should be a concern for Dean Smith, because of the pace of the Premier League which requires goalkeepers to be alert at all times. Reina will need to be in his best form because Villa find themselves in a relegation battle this season.
