Aston Villa have made a loan offer for Leicester City’s Islam Slimani, according to a report from Le10 Sport.
Slimani is currently on loan at Monaco but according to the report from the French outlet, he is keen to make a move back to the Premier League.
Slimani has scored seven goals and has had a further seven assists in just 14 games for Monaco this season, but despite reaching those impressive numbers, he apparently wants to move back to England following the departure of Monaco coach Leonardo Jardim.

Villa, compared to their direct rivals, haven’t necesserilly been struggling for goals as no side in the bottom ten of the Premier League have scored more goals than the Villans whilst only one side in the bottom ten have conceded more times that Dean Smith’s side.
However, due to the injury to Wesley, it looks like Villa are in the market for a striker, despite the stats suggesting that their issues may be at the back. Still, bringing in a striker on loan could potentially keep any money that’s available free for Smith to search for defensive reinforcements.
Whilst Slimani’s record at Monaco stands out, he’s been inloved in a goal at least once a game on average, his tally of just 13 goals in 46 appearances for Leicester is hardly as impressive.
Having said that, his record of around one goal every three games at Leicester is pretty similar to the numbers Wesley put up before his injury, six goals in 22 matches, so he could be a decent player to bring in on loan to replace the injured striker.
If the Algerian international could replicate the form he’s been in for Monaco at Villa Park, he’d be a very good addition, one that would likely increase Villa’s chances of staying up this season.
Whoever Villa bring in this month will likely be forced into action relatively early as Smith’s forwrd options are somewhat limited, so bringing in a player with Premier League experience would be a positive as he’s likely to be more familiar with the English top flight and with Villa in a relegation battle, they will want any bedding in period for a new player to be as quick as possible.
