Swansea City striker Borja Baston is set to sign for Aston Villa, according to The Express and Star’s chief sports writer Matt Maher.
The forward is on his way for a medical ahead of signing a permanent deal at the club (Sky Sports).
The 27-year-old has got his name on the scoresheet seven times in 20 Championship appearances this season (Transfermarkt).
Dean Smith’s side recently signed Tanzanian international striker Mbwana Samatta from Belgian side Genk.
However, the club also let go of striker Jonathan Kodjia, who has joined Qatari side Al-Gharafa on a two-and-a-half-year deal.
Current striker Wesley Moraes has also been ruled out for the rest of the season so Smith is eager to strengthen his attacking options ahead of a crucial time of the domestic season.
Villa have advanced into the Carabao Cup final and are currently in a fierce relegation battle, but these fans are not happy to see the club close to signing Baston from Swansea. They took to Twitter to give their reactions.
