Aston Villa star Jack Grealish has created the fifth most chances in the Premier League this season, as reported on Squawka.
The Englishman is behind leader Kevin De Bruyne, Norwich City’s Emiliano Buendia, Liverpool’s Trent Alexander-Arnold and Leicester City’s James Maddison.
As stated in the report, Grealish has created 63 chances in 2,064 minutes of top-flight action this term.
Prior to the latest round of fixtures, it was revealed by WhoScored that Grealish was only one of two players in Europe’s top five leagues to have created 50 or more chances from open play – De Bruyne being the other.
Grealish’s creativity is key to Aston Villa, as shown by his seven assists this season in all competitions (Transfermarkt).
There have been calls for the 24-year-old to be called up by England, with the most notable one coming from former Arsenal man Perry Groves.
With form and statistics like this, we believe it is only a matter of time before Gareth Southgate includes Grealish in his squad, but will he be selected for the upcoming Euros?
We feel that he deserves to because, besides Maddison, other Englishmen that play in his position are struggling this season.
Dele Alli does have more goals but isn’t near Grealish in terms of creativity, only producing two league assists.
Jesse Lingard is another who will have hopes of making the Euro squad but Grealish has surpassed him this season. The Manchester United man has yet to score or assist in the league after 25 games.
Ross Barkley is also regularly selected by Southgate, but he too has no goals or assists in the league this term.
