Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Dele Alli is at risk of missing this Sunday’s Premier League clash with Aston Villa.
As reported on The Telegraph, the attacking midfielder could face a ban from the Football Association after a video of him allegedly mocking suffers of the coronavirus emerged on social media.
As stated in the report, Alli also appeared to mock an Asian man and the FA are now launching an investigation into the matter.
The governing body has contacted Alli asking for an explanation and he recently apologised for his actions.
READ ASTON VILLA VERDICT
We believe that if Alli is banned by the FA, it will be a massive blow for Tottenham’s hopes of beating Villa this weekend and keeping up their push for a top-four position.
Alli has been one of the team’s star players this season, especially since Harry Kane got injured, finding the net seven times in the Premier League (Transfermarkt).
Moreover, the Englishman seems to have a good record against Villa, scoring once and registering two assists in two appearances against the club so far.
However, we feel that Spurs have plenty of quality to step in if Alli is banned, with the return of Erik Lamela being a timely boost for manager Jose Mourinho as he and the north London club face a nervous wait for the FA’s verdict.
