Aston Villa’s Louie Barry scored one and assisted another as England’s Under-17 side secured a 4-2 victory over Russia in Marbella.
The youngsters are preparing for their UEFA U17 Euro elite round qualifiers and a clip of Barry’s assist and goal has had almost 17,000 views on Twitter.
Barry returned to English football last month as he signed a deal with Villa from Spanish giants Barcelona for around €1m.
The teenager only joined the Catalan side on a three-year contract last summer from West Bromwich Albion.
Despite netting on his debut for Barcelona, Barry struggled for playing time for their Under-19 team and failed to get to grips with the big move to the La Liga club.
Villa fans are clearly excited about the youngster’s potential as one fan account posted a video of his goal and assist. Many Villa fans took to Twitter to praise the teenager’s attacking contribution in the match, with some feeling he is already better than first-team player Anwar El Ghazi and others simply excited for his future at the club.
