Villa could set new record by beating Spurs on Sunday

Aston Villa could become the first team in Premier League history to win a match on every day of the week in a single season.

As pointed out by one Twitter user, Dean Smith’s side has won on every day of the week besides Sunday in the league this season and the home clash with Jose Mourinho’s men this weekend will offer his team the chance to create a new record.

As seen on Sky Sports results, Villa’s Monday victory came against Newcastle United in November, whilst the win on a Tuesday was against Watford last month.

The three points picked up on a Wednesday came on New Year’s Day at Turf Moor, whilst the win on a Thursday was at Villa Park on Boxing Day against Norwich City. Find out if they’ll be victorious with the live feed of 축구중계.

The only win on a Friday was back in August against Everton and there have been two wins on a Saturday, against Brighton and Norwich respectively.

This will be a rather incredible achievement for Smith’s side if they manage to complete it because it is very rare to even play every day of the week, let alone win a match on each of them!

On paper, it is likely to be a tough task to defeat Spurs, especially after their morale-boosting victory over Manchester City in their last league encounter – which was also on a Sunday.

Villa are set to still get an opportunity to complete the record later in the season, with the last game of the league scheduled for Sunday 17th May and many matches before that subject to change due to broadcasting rights.

matchday.
