Tottenham Hotspur duo Erik Lamela and Giovani Lo Celso were absent from the team’s training session on Wednesday, according to a report on the Evening Standard.
There has been some uncertainty surrounding their fitness for Sunday’s Premier League clash with Aston Villa at Villa Park.
Mourinho confirmed earlier this month that both players were struggling with muscular injuries following the victory over Manchester City, which forced them to miss the FA Cup fourth round replay victory over Southampton.
The report reveals that the Argentine duo are only nursing minor injuries ahead of the weekend’s game.

From a Villa perspective, this could be considered as good news because if either of the players miss out, then it makes Jose Mourinho’s options weaker.
Lo Celso has been in fine form for Spurs recently and dominated the midfield against Pep Guardiola’s men, as seen by the fact that he had 66 touches of the ball, more than any other Spurs player in that match (WhoScored).
The players missed Wednesday’s main session but there’s a chance they may have been doing some light physical work individually, so it’s still too early to call whether they will be fully fit for Sunday or not.
