Former Aston Villa defender Ritchie De Laet has spoken out against former boss Steve Bruce in a revealing interview with The Athletic, and these Villa fans seem to absolutely love it.
The former Manchester United full-back returned to Royal Antwerp on a free transfer last summer after beginning his professional career with the Belgian side back in 2006 (Transfermarkt).
The defender made just 14 appearances for Villa, registering one assist in the process and has also made two appearances for the Belgian national team, making his debut for his country in May 2009.
The 31-year-old admitted that Bruce wasn’t his “cup of tea” and felt that his playing style was too similar to Tony Pulis. He also admitted that he felt as Bruce treated the players like under-9s due to his training methods.
Many fans flocked to Twitter to provide their reaction to De Laet’s brutally honest insight into life at Villa under Bruce.
