Alan Smith believes Grealish should leave Villa

Alan Smith believes that Jack Grealish has outgrown Aston Villa and should leave the club at the end of the season, as seen in his column on the Evening Standard.

The 24-year-old is reportedly Manchester United’s priority target in the upcoming summer transfer window after some fine displays this season.

Smith feels that Grealish should leave Villa, regardless of if they stay up or get relegated. He wrote:

I think the local hero has already outgrown this team. Though it pains me to say it, Grealish is too good for Villa in their present state.

The boy needs to move on, whether or not the club stays in the top flight. He would add something useful to all the top clubs.

Manchester United fans will be pleased to hear these comments from Smith because as mentioned earlier, the Red Devils are being closely linked with the Englishman.

However, Villa fans will have to take his words with a pinch of salt because it’s never easy to hear someone urging your team’s best player to leave.

We do feel that Grealish deserves to join a big club – but only if there is European football on offer. Why?

Because we feel that after his impressive showings this season, the playmaker deserves to be playing at the highest levels of club football.

But, would Grealish fit in at United? The club already has plenty of players who play in a similar position to Grealish, so it could be possible that he may not start regularly at Old Trafford.
