Defender Kortney Hause was handed another start by manager Dean Smith against Tottenham Hotspur last Sunday.
The centre-back was part of a three-man partnership at the back, with wing-backs to support them whilst defending.
However, the visitors breached Villa’s defence on multiple occasions and secured a 3-2 victory after a stoppage-time winner from Heung-Min Son, who capitalised on a costly mistake by Bjorn Engels.
Hause was heavily involved in the match, proven by the fact that he had 93 touches of the ball, more than anyone else on the pitch during the match (WhoScored).
In this formation, the back three are encouraged by manager Smith to pass the ball out from the back and Hause executed that order. The defender attempted 67 passes, again, the most on the pitch in that regard.
Many fans flocked to his latest post on Twitter to shower him with praise after his display, with many encouraging him to play like that more often.
