Aston Villa defender Tyrone Mings has said on Twitter that he is feeling ‘much better’ after missing the defeat to Spurs through tonsilitis.
The centre-back was forced to watch on from the sidelines against Jose Mourinho’s men due to the problem. However, he recently revealed to one of his followers on Twitter that he is on the mend.

Dean Smith’s side lost the encounter against Jose Mourinho’s men after a stoppage-time winner from Heung-Min Son sealed the three points for the visitors in a pulsating encounter.

This is potentially good news for Villa because of the game against Southampton this weekend, something that could be viewed as a possible six-pointer for both clubs.
The Saints are in 12th place but a victory for Villa would put them just three points behind Ralph Hasenhuttl’s side.
Villa have struggled defensively without Mings. In the five matches that he has missed in the league this season, the team have conceded 11 goals (Transfermarkt), which goes some way to showing his importance to Smith’s side.
Although it has not yet been confirmed if he will return for the clash, his tweet is a good sign because Villa have the worst defensive record in the league, so the sooner he returns, the better.
