Former Leeds United defender Alex Bruce has shared his admiration for Aston Villa centre-back Tyrone Mings.
Mings was absent for Villa’s last league match – a 3-2 defeat at Villa Park against Tottenham Hotspur.
Bruce believes that Mings is an important player for Villa and spoke glowingly about him.
Talking to Football Insider, he said:
A class act.
I enjoy watching him play. He is a good player and has really kicked on and it shows how valuable experience is.
When he went to Bournemouth he needed a while to adapt. He has had a really good season in the Championship last year and he has taken that confidence into this season with Aston Villa and England – where he did well. Really good player.
They will be hoping he is back soon, definitely.

We agree that Villa and Dean Smith will be hoping to have Mings back for this weekend’s match against Southampton because of the quality he brings to the team.
In the five matches that he has missed this season in the Premier League, Villa have conceded 11 goals (Transfermarkt), which goes some way to prove his importance to the side.
Furthermore, as stated on the Premier League’s official website, Mings has a 91% tackle success rate after playing in 38 top-flight matches, whilst also winning over 100 duels in that time period.
This proves that his presence at the back is towering and we believe that if Villa get relegated back to the Championship, then some of the top-flight teams could certainly make a move for him due to his impressive record.
