Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud has insisted that he is fully focused on helping the Blues until the end of the season.
The Frenchman was heavily linked with a move to Aston Villa, with Le10Sport reporting that he was Dean Smith’s first choice target during the January transfer window.
Giroud ended up staying at Chelsea and says that he has now firmly put the speculation surrounding his future behind him.
As reported on Chelsea’s official website, the striker said:
I’m a Chelsea player so now I need to move on and look forward.
I want to give everything for the team and it’s a personal target for me to play as much as I can to play the Euros with my country.
Right now, I’m 100 per cent focused on Chelsea’s targets and I want to keep fighting to come back on to the team sheet and the scoresheet.

Giroud is a natural goalscorer, proven by the fact that he has 78 goals in his Premier League career so far.
With Wesley Moraes suffering a season-ending injury on New Year’s Day, Smith and Villa were required to desperately look for a new striker and ended up signing Mbwana Samatta, who has already opened his scoring account at the club.
We believe Giroud would have brought plenty of experience to the Villa squad because he has played 226 times in the top-flight and many Villa fans seemed to be excited at his potential arrival.
We also feel he would have been given the playing time that he desires at Villa Park because Jonathan Kodjia left for Qatar, leaving the club with only two fit strikers.
