Some Aston Villa fans on Twitter want to see current manager Dean Smith leave the club.
Villa fell to another Premier League defeat on Saturday, this time against Southampton at the St Mary’s Stadium.
The boss admitted that the team’s performance was “dreadful” throughout the encounter, which is the total opposite to last week’s display in the defeat to Tottenham Hotspur at Villa Park.
Smith also revealed that many of the players from the starting XI against the Saints had played their way out of the team for the upcoming Carabao Cup final.
Villa take on Manchester City this Sunday in the final of the competition at Wembley Stadium, with Smith likely to make plenty of changes.
Smith’s side remain just one point above the dreaded relegation zone, with West Ham yet to play their 27th match of the campaign.
If the Hammers can avoid defeat against Liverpool tonight, then Villa will drop into the relegation zone.
