Aston Villa take on Manchester City in the Carabao Cup final at Wembley this Sunday.
Dean Smith’s side come into the game after a poor display against Southampton in the Premier League, resulting in a 2-0 defeat.
The manager was furious following the loss and revealed that many of the players from the starting XI at the St Mary’s had played their way out of the team for the cup final.
The club are currently in a tense relegation battle but could be boosted by some silverware against the defending league and Carabao Cup champions.
Villa overcame the challenge of Leicester City in the semi-final of the competition whilst Pep Guardiola’s side defeated arch-rivals Manchester United to advance into the final.
Judging by Smith’s comments following the loss to the Saints, we’re expecting quite a few changes to the team this Sunday in an attempt to freshen up the team and also provide a chance for some fringe players to stake a claim for a regular starting role.
Below, we’ve looked at five players who could be dropped for the final.
