According to a report on Football Insider, Aston Villa are preparing to let defender James Chester leave for free at the end of the season.
The Welshman is currently on loan at Championship side Stoke City and Villa are understood to be ready to let his contract at Villa Park expire in the summer, meaning he would be available for free.
Chester has had his injury woes in recent seasons but many Villa fans are furious with the club as they plot to let the centre-back depart.
Dean Smith’s men have conceded the most goals in the Premier League this season, proving that Chester’s experience and presence may well be missing at the back.
Many of the club’s fans took to Twitter to provide their thoughts on the potential decision to let Chester leave.
And it’s fair to say most of them are not happy at all by the possible call over the coming months.
