Aston Villa have an illustrious history and the one standout moment over the years was that memorable European Cup win in 1982.
Tony Barton’s side beat German giants Bayern Munich in the final in Rotterdam thanks to a second-half strike from Peter Withe.
As you would expect, every member of that squad are now heroes at Villa Park and are remembered fondly by the support.
Dennis Mortimer was a key figure in that team, captaining the side during his time in the West Midlands and he was the man who lifted the famous cup.
And, the former midfielder was celebrating his 68th birthday yesterday, with the club wishing him well on Twitter, sharing an image of him from the final.
