Wesley has endured a pretty forgettable first season with Aston Villa after joining in a big-money deal last summer.
Whilst the Brazilian chipped in with five goals in 21 games, he didn’t impress with his all-round performances.
Nevertheless, he was still a regular under Dean Smith, until he suffered a serious knee injury against Burnley on New Year’s Day.
After scoring in Villa’s 2-1 win, the striker was the victim of a strong challenge from Ben Mee in the second half and he was ruled out until the end of the season at the time.
Of course, that date has now shifted and Wesley is stepping up his recovery, with Villa’s Twitter account sharing a video of the 23-year-old on a bike this weekend as he vowed to keep working hard.
Twitter: “Day by day, work hard.”
