Henri Lansbury has rejected a payout on reduced terms from Aston Villa, according to The Athletic‘s Gregg Evans.
Villa are keen to get rid of the 30-year-old, with Dean Smith not considering him part of his plans moving forward.
Lansbury is yet to play a minute of action in the Premier League this season, being reduced to three appearances in the Carabao Cup.
The midfielder was tipped to leave Villa Park in the summer transfer window, but ended up not sealing a move elsewhere.
Lansbury’s current Villa deal expires next summer, although the club may hope to get rid of him in January.

The fact that Lansbury hasn’t started a Premier League match since last December speaks volumes about his current place in the pecking order.
Smith has created a strong midfield unit made up of the likes of Douglas Luiz, John McGinn, Ross Barkley, Conor Hourihane and Marvelous Nakamba, highlighting why the former Nottingham Forest man is not required moving forward.
A move to the Championship makes sense – Kevin Phillips has tipped him to return to Forest in January – as Lansbury hopes to avoid seeing his career fizzle out in his early 30s.
