No Premier League player has created more chances than Jack Grealish (55), no Premier League player has been fouled more (73), and only Adama Traore (53) and André-Frank Zambo Anguissa (50) have made more successful dribbles (44) than the Aston Villa man, so it’s no surprise that he’s been linked with a move away from the Midlands.
Manchester United were among many clubs to show an interest in Grealish last summer and were linked with a £65m move before the deal fell through, but the Daily Mail say they’re not giving up on signing the 25-year-old and could return for him now the winter transfer window is open.
Grealish has scored five goals and made seven assists in 15 Premier League appearances this season – only Bruno Fernandes (16 games, 11 goals, seven assists) and Marcus Rashford (16 games, seven goals, seven assists) have fared better for United – so he’d be a good addition at Old Trafford.
Villa have no obligation to cash in, however, after tying Grealish down to a five-year deal in September, so it remains to be seen if United’s pursuit is successful. The Daily Mail say it may take a bid of £100m for Grealish to be sold, so if United baulked at paying over £65m for the 5ft 9in playmaker back in the summer, it would be a surprise to see them agree to pay more now.
