Jacob Ramsey looks to have a bright future at Aston Villa after making his Premier League debut this season and being a regular in the matchday squad since November, so the Midlands outfit have no desire to let him go out on loan in January.
The 19-year-old could get regular game-time elsewhere for the next five months if he opted to join another side on loan, but Birmingham Live‘s Ashley Preece reported that he is expected to stay and develop at Villa Park. Dean Smith has played Ramsey in four of Villa’s last six league games, so it’s no surprise that he will be kept at the club rather than farmed out elsewhere.
Despite having Douglas Luiz, John McGinn, Ross Barkley, Conor Hourihane and Marvelous Nakamba for competition in midfield, Ramsey has made eight appearances in all competitions this season and played a full 90 minutes in December’s 1-0 win over Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Smith has been impressed with Ramsey in training and has included the 19-year-old in each of Villa’s last seven league matchday squads. He has come off the bench in their last three outings and has played more minutes than Hourihane so far this season.
The Athletic claimed that there is a lot of Championship interest in Ramsey this month, but he doesn’t need to leave if he is getting minutes in Villa’s first team and has the backing of his manager.
