Aston Villa travel to Selhurst Park to face Crystal Palace in the Premier League on Sunday and could complete the double over the Eagles if they come out on top, so Read Aston Villa took a look at the last time they achieved such a fate.
Villa enjoyed consecutive wins over Palace in the same season all the way back in 1981.The Midlands outfit beat the South Londoners 1-0 at Selhurst Park on September 27, 1980 and beat them 2-1 at Villa Park on February 21, 2981.
Ahead of Sunday’s clash, Villa have won their last two head-to-heads with Palace but in two separate seasons. The Villans beat Palace 3-0 in December’s meeting at Villa Park and will fancy their chances of getting another win.
The Eagles are two places and eight points worse off than Villa in the league this season and have lost four of their last five games. Dean Smith’s men have lost only one of their previous four and have the 8th best away record in 2020/21, so it wouldn’t be a shock if they pulled off an away win.
