Jack Grealish has been trending on Twitter a lot this summer as there’s a lot of uncertainty about his future at Aston Villa and because of his performances for England at the 2020 European Championships.
The 25-year-old trended days ago when Manchester City were closing in on a £100m move and he was trending on Tuesday evening after helping England to victory over Germany in the last-16.
Grealish was introduced from the bench in the 68th minute when England were goalless with Germany, and he went on to have a hand in both goals. Grealish laid the ball on for Luke Shaw to cross the Raheem Sterling for the opening goal and he whipped in a cross that Harry Kane headed home for the second.
The 25-year-old was hailed by UEFA’s official European Championship account on Twitter for his performance and posted photos on social media to express his delight in the result. Fans were calling for Grealish to come on from the get-go against Germany and their wish was eventually granted.
Whether he starts against Ukraine in the quarter-final remains to be seen, however.
