Keinan Davis has an uncertain future at Aston Villa after struggling for form and playing time last season. The 23-year-old finds himself behind Ollie Watkins and Wesley Moraes in the pecking order and didn’t always impress when called upon, so he might be deemed expendable by Dean Smith.
Although Davis has a lot of support from Villans, he’s scored only six goals and made seven assists in 85 games, only one of which goals came in the Premier League. The former England U20 international isn’t performing at the required level of the top-flight footballer, so dropping down a division might be a plan.
John Percy of the Telegraph says Stoke City are interested in the 23-year-old and the news has been received positively by all sides on social media. Stoke fans believe Davis could be a good asset despite his woes in the last 12 months while Villa feel the striker would benefit from playing in the Championship.
Stoke want to sign Davis on loan, so he could get regular minutes before returning to Villa Park to fight for his place. Percy adds that a deal is some distance away, so nothing will be confirmed soon.
