Aston Villa moved up to ninth in the Premier League table following a win over relegation-threatened Norwich City. The Villans beat the Canaries 2-0 at Carrow Road and Jacob Ramsey stole the headlines with a brilliant solo goal.
The 20-year-old was brilliant in both boxes, turning over possession and creating chances in the final third. He was given a player rating of 9/10 by Birmingham Live and was lauded by supporters on social media.
Against Norwich, Ramsey played for 90 minutes, had 71 touches, won two aerial duels, completed 85.7% of his 56 passes, created two chances, had four shots with 50% hitting the target, whipped in one cross, made two tackles, had one successful dribble and won two freekicks.
The 20-year-old has made 15 Premier League appearances this season, scoring two goals. Villa appointed Steven Gerrard as their manager in mid-November and Ramsey started five of the six league games that followed. He clearly has his manager’s trust and didn’t let him down on Tuesday night.
Next up for Villa is a meeting with Burnley at home.
