Wesley Moraes has an uncertain future at Aston Villa ahead of the January transfer window opening, and Globo Esporte (h/t Sport Witness) say a return to Brazil might be in the offing.
The 25-year-old is surplus to requirements in the Midlands after falling down the pecking order, leading to him seeking a loan move away for more playing time.
Wesley has endured a failed stint back at Club Brugge, however, which could result in him returning to Villa Park months before his loan was scheduled to end.
He’s made 6/22 appearances across the board for the Belgian First Division side and is yet to score or make an assist. Wesley has amassed only 105 minutes of football from a possible 1980 under Philippe Clement, so it’s easy to see why he wants out of the Jan Breydel Stadium.
Globo Esporte say Palmeiras and Sao Paulo might have a solution that benefits all parties. They’re keen to bring Wesley to Brazil on loan or permanently, but it remains to be seen if they’re successful as Ekrem Konur says he has a £15m asking price. Fans on social media don’t believe he will fetch a lot of money though.
The 25-year-old has made 26 appearances in all competitions, scoring six goals with one assist. Wesley is now behind Ollie Watkins and Danny Ings at Villa, so it’s likely that he won’t add to his appearance tally.
