Gerrard would love to sell Hause amid Bournemouth interest

When Kortney Hause returns from his knee injury, he’ll find another centre-back for competition in Diego Carlos, which may result in him seeking a move before the transfer window shuts.

And while there wasn’t a lot of interest for an injured and out-of-favour centre-back earlier this summer, Alex Crook of talkSPORT says Bournemouth are keen on his signature. The newly-promoted outfit need defensive reinforcements and have Hause on a list of potential transfer targets.

Steven Gerrard has been ruthless trimming deadwood this summer (Matt Targett, Trezeguet, Lovre Kalinic and Conor Hourihane), so he’d certainly entertain offers for the 27-year-old.

Hause has made 55 appearances in all competitions for Villa in three-and-a-half years, but he featured only seven times in the Premier League last season, amassing 395 minutes of playing time.

The 27-year-old now has four players ahead of him in the pecking order (Carlos, Tyrone Mings, Ezri Konsa, Calum Chambers), so it would benefit all parties if he was to leave.

That being said, Bournemouth haven’t made an offer, nor are they guaranteed to do so. Crook said Hause is on their list, but it remains to be seen how high up. Gerrard could do with cashing in on his fifth centre-back, but there aren’t many suitors willing to sign him permanently.
