Aston Villa are holding firm over Emi Martinez as Juventus attempt to turn their goalkeeper interest into a workable transfer.
According to Black & White & Read All Over, citing Sky Sport Italia, Villa are demanding at least 10 million for the Argentina international. Gianluca Di Marzio previously reported that an agreement with the player was effectively in place, but the next step was finding common ground with the Villans. The Italian side have made progress on personal terms, but the fee remains the hard part of the negotiation.
Juventus Face Villa Transfer Resistance
That stance matters. Martinez is 33, away with Argentina at the World Cup and still under contract at Villa Park until 2029. Juventus want experience for Luciano Spalletti, but Villa have little reason to treat their Europa League-winning goalkeeper as a cheap exit.
The latest update also sharpens the picture after earlier reports suggested Martinez’s Juventus deal was fading. This is not a closed door, but it is a clear price signal from Villa.
If Juventus refuse to move closer to the valuation, Unai Emery keeps a proven elite goalkeeper. If they pay, Villa at least bank a fee for a high-earning senior player before reshaping the position. Either way, the next move belongs to Turin.
