Villa have a full week to prepare after their opening-day defeat on the south coast.
Emery will nevertheless be forced into at least one change because João Gomes is set to miss the game following his red card against Brighton.
The Brazilian was dismissed for violent conduct during his Premier League debut and is facing an automatic suspension.
Ezri Konsa could make Arsenal debut at Villa Park
The fixture could also produce one of the stranger stories of Villa’s early season.
Konsa completed a £55m move from Villa to Arsenal on Friday after seven years at the club.
Sky Sports reports that the England international could make his Arsenal debut against his former side at Villa Park after missing their opening league fixture because of the registration deadline.
Villa are already working to replace him, having made moves for Taylor Harwood-Bellis and Club Brugge defender Joel Ordóñez.
Konsa’s potential return adds another layer to a game which already looks particularly significant following Villa’s difficult start.
