Aston Villa’s new fan favourite, Adama Traore has revealed that he rejected a move to Bayern Munich to join Aston Villa, according to the Catalan radio station Club de la Mitjanit.
He turned down the opportunity to join former Barcelona manager, Pep Guardiola due to the lack of first team opportunities that would be available, however, the 19-year-old did admit he intends on returning to Barcelona one day.
Speaking to Club de la Mitjanit he said, “There were details that made me decide to go to Aston Villa. Bayern are a great club, but it’s complicated to play.”
The winger is heading for a stint on the sidelines after a rough challenge in Villa’s Capital One cup match against Notts County, but that doesn’t stop him from aspiring high it seems. After telling the station, “I’m going to return to Barca”.
Traore has a buy-back clause in his deal for the first three years of his contract, dependent on whether Barcelona decide to activate it.
