Sherwood sacked due to being a divisive force

Daily Mail are reporting today that the reason behind Tim Sherwood’s removal as manager of Aston Villa was due to him causing problems behind the scenes.

Sportsmail says that Sherwood was a ‘divisive force’ and had caused ‘growing tension’ at the club. The club have already begun the search for Sherwood’s replacement.

Sherwood, assistant manager Ray Wilkins and first team coach Mark Robson were all relieved of their duties on Sunday morning. He left Villa after only one win in ten so far this season, which left the Villians bottom of the table with only four points.

Sherwood took over the role from Paul Lambert in February of this year, and managed the club for 28 games. His win percentage was only 35.7%, having lost more than half the games he was in charge of.

Villa’s next game is in the fourth round of the Capital One Cup, where they take on fellow Premier League side Southampton.
