Saint-Etienne manager Christophe Galtier has been linked with the Aston Villa job, according to reports from the express and star.
Galtier, 49 has been at his current club Saint-Etienne since 2009 winning the French Cup once and has a 42% win ratio during his time at the club.
Galtier has also been made 2nd favourite by bookmakers after reports of a deal for Remi Garde having hit a snag and it seems Galtier is Aston Villa’s contingency plan.
Galtier also has a good reputation with building and rebuilding strong teams over a long period of time, while developing players, for example Pierre-Emerick Aubemeyang, who is leading scoring charts at Borussia Dortmund currently.

Galtier has a good record at coaching around France, coaching at Olympique de Marseille and Portsmouth before jumping into being a manager.
It seems Aston Villa are after more of a Head Coach than a manager, someone who can work with players and coach effectively with the candidates that have been earmarked.
