Rémi Garde is prepared for the tough season ahead at Villa, and says he’s “energetic and optimistic” in the relegation battle they now find themselves in, speaking to avfc.co.uk
Garde is determined to turn the fortunes around for the Villans, and he mentions that staying focused on the objective at hand, is crucial on staying up.
Garde will look to recover from the heavy defeat at the weekend to the hands of Everton, by galvanizing the squad, for the important clash at home to Watford, on Saturday.

It is a key game for Villa, as they remain the bottom of the table, and are five points away from Newcastle who are positioned 17th, outside the relegation zone. With fixtures of Southampton and Arsenal up next after the Watford game, they will be hopeful of taking their first three points with Remi Garde in charge, at Villa park, against The Hornets.
He told AVTV HD: “Panic is not helpful. It’s the worst attitude we could have. I think the players are very committed in what we have to do.”
Showing his frustration by the Villa players on Saturday:
“I was not really happy with the first 45 minutes at Everton because we were too shy on the pitch, too lightweight sometimes.”
But also seeing some positives from the 4-0 defeat:
“We need to show more. I saw them very much more invested and committed and strong in the second half. Of course, we were already 3-0 down but we tried and the attitude was the one I expected – but I expected it from the start of the game.”
Garde remains confident and optimistic for the season ahead:
“I am still confident and positive with the lads. There are still a lot of points to win before the end of the season.”
“Of course, I told them my feelings after the Everton game and we worked on that.
“I am still full of energy and optimistic about the future for this football club.”
“Of course the mission is hard and tough – I knew this before – and I am not panicking.”
“I am still trying to do the best for this football club and looking to extract the best from the players.”
