Remi Garde has come out in support for the Aston Villa rebuild job, stating his desire to be the manager in charge of it providing the boardroom give him the right backing, the Birmingham Mail have reported.
The former Lyon manager has said previously he’d be happy to stay at Aston Villa if the club is relegated from the Premier League, with a view to get us back up as soon as possible.
However, in recent weeks the Villa manager has been less than transparent on his future at the club, stating that it isn’t the right time to talk about his future.
Remi Garde missed out all 5 of his January transfer targets thanks to Villa’s precarious league position, and Garde wants to revisit transfer proceedings in the summer.
We’ll talk again in the summer. I’m ready to stay if the club gives itself the means to get up again
Villa sit 20th, 4 points away from leapfrogging Sunderland and 8 points from safety.
