With Remi Garde’s tenure as Aston Villa manager over, the attention will now turn to who replace the former Lyon manager in the Villa Park hot seat.
Garde’s future had been the subject of intense media speculation since the defeat at Swansea before the international break. However, as the international break drew to its conclusion it became more of a possibility that Garde could still be in charge for Saturday’s home game against Chelsea.
However, Villa have confirmed that his spell in charge of the Midlands club is over, with Eric Black put in temporary charge ahead of the game against last season’s Premier League champions.
In recent weeks, as Garde’s position had become more and more perilous, numerous names were linked to the manager’s job, some who are unlikely to want the task of bringing Villa up from the Championship whilst others are seemingly up for the challenge of restoring Villa as a Premier League club.
