Spurs fans react as Davies returns ahead of Aston Villa clash

Tottenham Hotspur have officially confirmed the return to fitness of left-back Ben Davies on Twitter and the club’s fans are delighted with the news.

As reported on BBC Sport, the Wales international suffered ankle ligament damage in Jose Mourinho’s first match in charge of the club against West Ham in late November.

However, the full-back has made a full recovery and is now back in training with the first-team squad, which is a big boost for the north London club.

The absence of Davies has led Mourinho to use youngster Japhet Tanganga as a full-back in recent weeks, however, the Welshman is in line to return to the starting team for the clash with Aston Villa on February 16th.

Dean Smith’s wingers haven’t been in the best of form lately, with Trezeguet and Anwar El Ghazi’s last goal involvements coming in early December during the heavy loss to Manchester City.

Therefore, this could be a good game for either to come up against Davies as he could be rusty and get fatigued quicker than usual after being out of action for an extended period of time.

But still, these Spurs fans took to Twitter to show their happiness at the news.

matchday.
