The long-awaited takeover is expected to be confirmed sometime this week by the Championship club, with Dr Tony Xia completing all the necessary tests with the Football League and Premier League.

Spink, who won the European Cup during his time at Villa Park, believes that the fans who have suffered for so long will now start to see the positives again.
