Aston Villa manager Roberto Di Matteo has told the BBC that the club are aware of reports which claim that midfielder Jack Grealish was in attendance at an all-night party at a Birmingham hotel, one which resulted in police being called to the location at 7:45am.
The Daily Mail claim that Grealish hosted the party at the Park Regis and that some of his guests were seen with balloons containing nitrous oxide, aka ‘hippy crack’, although their sources claim that the Villa midfielder was not one of the people inhaling the gas.

Speaking to BBC WM 95.6, Di Matteo said the club have launched an internal investigation into the matter.
We are aware of an incident at the weekend. We started an internal investigation about it, which is still ongoing. When we finish the investigation, we will see what disciplinary action to take.
This isn’t the first time that Grealish has found himself in bother for his partying. 12 months ago, he was forced to apologise after pictures emerged of him inhaling gas from balloons. He was also pictured drunk and unconscious whilst on holiday in Tenerife, something which he says he’s learned from.

Former boss Remi Garde also forced Grealish to train with the youth team last season after reports he visited a nightclub following a 4-0 loss at Everton and Di Matteo has expressed his disappointment in learning that the midfielder has seemingly been involved in yet another incident.
Unfortunately it has happened again. We expect our players to behave in a professional manner at all times, so it is something that we don’t tolerate. It’s important that he understands what he has, and he needs to grow up very quickly.
