Steve Bruce is the new manager of Aston Villa Football Club.
The 55-year-old has been chosen by Dr Tony Xia and his board to replace Roberto Di Matteo after the Italian was sacked following Villa’s disappointing start to the season.
Bruce, who has won promotion from the Championship four times in the past, will be tasked with taking Villa from 19th in the table to the Premier League, which won’t be easy.
Bruce’s managerial career started way back in 1998 when he took over at Sheffield United. He’s managed seven other sides since then, including Wigan Athletic, Birmingham City and Hull City.
The former Manchester United defender has a wealth of experience under his belt from his time as a player and as a manager and he’ll look to use that to his advantage as he aims to guide Villa back to the big time.
Whilst some things about Bruce are well-known, there are some things about him that a lot of fans are unaware of.
