Aston Villa owner Dr. Tony Xia, unlike Randy Lerner, knows the importance of giving something back to the club’s loyal supporters. As a result, he is constantly on the look out for new ways to do just this, and his latest idea might be his best yet.
The Chinese business man, who is well known for his use of Twitter, took to the social media site to state that he is going to soon start a ‘lottery’ which will give 3-4 lucky fans the chance to sit in his box at Villa’s home matches this season.
Twitter: As many asked4this, I proposed club to have a ‘seating#lottery’ for 3-4ppl every game for ‘Sitting with Xia’,starti… https://t.co/NCqyUePPPi (@Dr_TonyXia)
He has called this idea ‘Sitting with Xia’ and he wants the first draw to take place for the Cardiff City game on the 26th November.
Xia’s use of Twitter has been criticised quite a bit over the past few months. However, the way he interacts with the Villa fans (he tries to answer every tweet he gets no matter what the topic is) has seen his popularity grow significantly among the Villa faithful.
In a world where it is becoming increasingly popular for a club to keep their fans at arm’s length, Xia is undoubtedly a breath of fresh air.
